Komiks Presents: Mars Ravelo’s Tiny Tony
->
This is the happiest moment of my life” – John Prats, at the Komiks Presents: Mars Ravelo’s Tiny Tony press conference, October 2, 2008
On the 30th of May, 2008, I stood in front of a crowd of a thousand. Nine celebrities were behind of the platform where I was holding a laptop and a wooden case of fake money ought to be worth of a hundred grand. Another celebrity wearing a top I saw in a department store handed me a laptop, and there came my mom rushing towards me. Unconsciously though, I started crying, and nearly dropped whatever it is that I was holding to catch the arms of my mother. Seconds it took for us to be swarmed by colorful shredded sheets of orange and red. That was the first time I appeared on national TV. Bonus was the prize I won from that noontime show. By far, that was the happiest moment of my life
Most of us had their happiest moments to be their first experience of something. First day in school, first perfect score in an exam, first love, first kiss, or even first visit in their hometown for those who were born in other countries. People expect a lot from their firsts that is why most would really invest a lot of time, effort, money, even emotional preparation before they indulge themselves into such situations. Sometimes, their first experiences would be a big surprise which, by the way, make the occasion much memorable. Yet regardless of the anticipation, either way any first of a person’s life would have their experience to be the most memorable. Happiest if applicable.
That is why when Mars Ravelos’ Tiny Tony was given to John Prats, nothing could have made him even
happier. Once rumored to jump to the rival network’s fence, this project made him realize that the Kapamilya station still finds him otherwise an important talent to take care of. Now, John Prats bags the role of Tiny Tony—his very first starring role in a TV show to date, and, according to him, the happiest moment of his entire showbiz life.
A press conference was held at the 14th floor of ABS-CBN ELJCC where I was lucky to be part of the bloggers invited to see (and take pictures with) the cast of Mars Ravelos’ Tiny Tony. Along with Jason Ong and Flowell Galindez (well minus him because he’s part of the event to begin with—haha! :D), I was lucky to be there to watch a special preview of Tiny Tony and chat with some of the entertainment press invited in the event—the very first time I attended such an occasion for an upcoming TV show (cyberpromdi mode).
Tiny Tony revolves around a wussy, financially struggling Antonio ‘Tony’ Aniscol (John Prats), a poor but excessively smart kid who was discovered by a scientist Dr. Morgan Peralta (Pen Medina) who eventually sponsored his entire schooling. Together, they formulated a secret shrinking solution which was poured over to Tony in an accident. Ala Honey-I-Shrunk-The-Kids mode, the courage-deficient Tony became worst of being the tiniest of tiny (and killed Dr. Peralta in the process).
What will happen to his magazine quotations lover mother Eden (Susan Africa) if she finds out her unico hijo becomes microscopic? How about that kitty-kitty friend Michelle (Alex Gonzaga) of his who keeps on bugging him to like her? Will Dr. Joaquin Peralta (Coco Martin) finally steals the limelight off his father’s scholar Tony? Will Red Cloud (Aaron Villaflor) become Tony’s enemy for life? And how will Jumbo (Gerard Acao) help his littlest best friend? Or it’ll be the other way around?
And since this is supposedly a superhero series, will a itsy bitsy teenie weenie Tiny Tony be able to pull off a heroic character to save the world from the evil antics of Gil Gante (Mura)? Do big things come in small packages?

GOOD NEWS Charice fans / Divanatics!
After her outstanding performances on Ellen DeGeneres Show, Paul McGrady, Oprah, and just recently in David Foster and Friends concert in Mandalay Bay, our very own Charice (OMG, I’m so excited about this) is set to make another Pinoy mark to perform alongside the most renowned concerto artists in Andrea Bocelli’s “The Cinema Tribute” at the Theater of Silence of Lajatico, Italy.
The concert is scheduled on the 20th of July. This once a year occasion is extraordinarily one-of-a-kind experience for the audience because of the attractive outdoor and magically ambient atmosphere established by the open air theater built in Tuscany, where Andrea Bocelli hails.
Andrea Bocelli’s “The Cinema Tribute” will feature some of the world’s most memorable cinema musicale to be rendered by Noa, Nicolla Piovani , Roberto Bolle and Maestro Andrea Bocelli. Completing this set of world class performers will be the 16-year-old international singing sensation Charice Pempengco.
The stage will be open to the public for their rehearsals on the 19th.
Go girl! Make your fellow Pinoys prouder! Mabuhay ka Charice Pempengco!

Charice Pempengco’s Performances - Oprah, Paul O’Grady, and David Foster
Since a zillion people have been emailing me, sending me PMs on YouTube, YM-ing me out of the blue, asking me personally for a new fanart, or just updating my blog about my ultimate child idol slash Goddess of exquisite Filipino singing perfection Charice Pempengco, well, read on ‘coz here are some of the clips I found featuring our one and only Charice and her outstanding performances in:
The Paul O’Grady Show (UK)

I was actually surprised upon hearing this directly from our friends from ChariceDiva.com. In fact, Charice received repeated standing ovations after each of her performances in the show (not shown on the vid). Not even Mariah Carey can beat that.
And finally, after so much waiting for her ultimate stint on my favorite talk show since Ellen,
