Ranking your blog for real
Okay, so you have probably submitted your site to them because of the capabilities of having your site appear when they search certain keywords, right? You trusted them because they, according to them, lead everyone else in terms of indexed websites and affiliates that automatically connects your website, in your case your blog, to the rest of the products and services available on the web. Because of their extensive database of information on the websites they lurk on, you thought they have all the credibility in the world to tell you if your website is significant to its end-users (hence the revered PageRank). That is, people who use major search engines when they are looking for something. Perhaps you were thinking. Where could they possibly get the money to suffice such services in indexing websites for easy search as well as other programs they cater?
Ads. Oh their juicilious advertisements posted on the websites. Those popups, mostly squared text as insets on the text you are reading, that you loathe the most. If you see the G word, you’ll know it’s from them. For an insert just think of how much these advertisers pay for their ads to be published via them.
And then the thing they fear the most came. Websites/blogs are now capable of using their content creation to advertise cheaper and more convenient. These sites up surged in terms of population. Fear came into their being that with a cheaper means of advertising their products and services using sponsored posts, they, with all their monopolistic means, tried to stop them, attempted to stash off these sponsored posters’ credibility (and web significance) by dramatically removing their PageRank value for no good reason. Dirty tactic of trying to lose these advertisers’ confidence, eh? From what grounds? Insecurity?
Now, with the exception of prejudiced and “over-the-counter blackmail of not allowing sponsored post advertising from companies other than them the G-word” scheme, here is the newest, and technically the most credible and most accurate measurement of how your site influences on the web.
