PIRACY IS THE BEST POLICY

I’ve read this post a while ago.

“Software Piracy and Computer Literacy”

In a gist, he pointed out that because of ‘open’-source softwares ready to be downloaded on the internet (via torrents, P2P applications, etc) and pirated CD-ROMs costing you for about a hundred pesos per cd, the proletarian brownmen of bansang Pilipinas learned how to type their projects using Word, play Counterstrike, listen to music, or simply assess Windows XP as “Man’s second best friend”. (Mac users usually have licensed packages, though)

Do you think our fellow Filipinos who only have at least a hundred peso per hour wage would afford to at least buy a licensed CD worth PhP 10,000 pesos just to learn how to type “I am cute” on the screen? Thanks to cheap pirated CDs, kids, teens, feeling teens, and the 40% senescents of our country are somehow know how to boot up a PC. Computer owners don’t have to bother themselves augment expenses for original purchase of softwares after buying their 30 kiao worth PCs.

Universities are (unadmittingly) installing pirated programs, too. Can list a dozen in Cavite or Manila. Students could only afford pirated softwares, too. ‘For academic purposes only’ versions of some softwares pisses off beginners because of its numerous limitations on the product. Because of piracy, I learned how to browse the internet in first year highschool.

Ayoko ngang gumastos ng Php20,000 pesos para sa Adobe programs I’m currently using. I’m not insane to do that.

Piracy is the best policy. Yeah!

This is Azureus, a BitTorrent client software which enables you to download thousands of programs (as in, mega or gigabytes of programs), videos, music compilations, e-books (care for a Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince pdf file, eh?), and everything worth thousands of dollars for FREE! Yes, that right… ABSOLUTELY FREE!

Here are some screenshots:

Oh… 4 AFP generals, cleared by AFP. INQ7 and Saksi told the butterflies and the bees.

What did they use? Surf? Tide?

Probably Ariel. Mabilis lang matanggal ang mantsa sa washing machine when I’m using Ariel Ultramatic.
