Filipino politicians mauled 56-year-old Golfer and a 14-year-old Kid

December 27th, 2008

Helping to spread the word, I’m reposting this blog post of Bambee de la Paz regarding this mauling incident involving Masiu City Mayor Nasser Pangandaman, Jr. and Department of Agrarian Reform Secretary Nasser Pangandaman, and de la Paz’ father and 14-year-old brother.

Justice for the victims!

So, I just had the worst day of my life.

At around 1:30 PM today, at Valley Golf and Country Club, Antipolo City, Mayor Nasser Pangandaman, Jr., Mayor of Masiu City, Lanao del Sur, his father, Secretary Nasser Pangandaman of the Department of Agrarian Reform, and company, beat my defenseless 56-year-old dad and my 14-year-old brother to a pulp because of some stupid misunderstanding on the golf course.

This is a golf course. I have been a golfer all my life, and I have never seen anything like this. NOTHING. This is hard to comprehend. And it happened to my own father and my own brother too. Right in front of my eyes.

In an easy technical knockout on the 8th round, Oscar de la Hoya bows down at Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao, winning another weight division this year.Welterweight, that is.

Pacquiao easily dominated de la Hoya on the first round, constantly punching out points on each and every succeeding segment of the bout. And at the end of the 8th round, De La Hoya refused to move out of his corner, thus officially bringing victory forward to Pacquiao who shed tears on his historic victory.

Now, who’s the better man, huh? :-p

Congratulations, pride of the Philippines Manny Pacquiao! We’re so proud of you!

Mabuhay ka!

PS: Chavit Singson, et al, please. FUCK OFF. WE DON’T WANT TO SEE YOU AND YOUR FELLOW COHOOTS’ UGLY FACES ON OUR MONITORS FOR CHRIST SAKE!

Thank you.

Life is Full of Surprises – The Moon is Smiling At Us

If it wasn’t Ade who posted this pic on Plurk, I would have not noticed it.

It sure did make me teary-eyed for a split second

I have a bunch of problems that I’ve been paying attention to for the past few days. But after seeing this wonderful thing amidst the darkest of our skies, I simply looked behind, hurriedly wiped those tears away, and just smiled back.

Life really is full of surprises, don’t you think?

Charice Live at Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade

November 28th, 2008

Kudos to all the people behind Charice’s international exposure. At long last, coinciding my… ehem… date of birth (oh shucks, I should not have done that), Charice performs at Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade.

Of course, you’ll be surprised that an Asian (more particular, a Filipino) would banner proudly on a major Macy float in the event. Charice’s performance is undoubtedly groundbreaking, giving out one live rendition of Celine Dion’s “Because You Love Me”.

Boy, oh boy. Charice, we’re so proud of you. I’ll make another editorial cartoon for you. I promise.

Here’s the clip of Charice performing at Macy’s. Thanks bidangbata for the video! :)

When Everything Seems to be Perfect*

November 24th, 2008

Credits to whoever creative responsible for this image. Just laughed my arse out after seeing this somewhere.

Too goodlooking. Too talented. Too habulin. In short, PERFECT. Hence, the questioning.

Sometimes I’m pretty disturbed every time I gaze on his humongous tarp along EDSA-Magallanes Ave (I think. Man, my GPS skills are as bad as a blind cat).

* – COMMENT ON THE TITLE – I remember hearing this from our Literature professor about a particular show on Clueless romance that he quoted: “When everything seems to be perfect, then none of them is true.” So applies to everyday living, don’t you think?
